Our mission is to take responsible decisions to benefit our community, customers, and the environment around us.
We are leading the way on sustainability at Orchard Centre and in the surrounding environment and seek to provide tenants and visitors with information on ESG-related issues plus opportunities for action to create positive change.
Biodiversity
10 bird boxes have been installed throughout the site, targeting native British species like robin and sparrow.
A green roof has been installed, as well as planters throughout the mall of both phases, helping to bring nature into the retail park.
A bug hotel has been constructed at the entrance of the car park, providing a vital home for insects.
Energy / Carbon
100% of our electricity in public spaces comes from renewable sources like wind and solar.
100% of waste from public areas is diverted from landfill.
The park holds a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating, meaning the buildings meet strict sustainability standards.
Community & Social
£5,000 has been donated to the Didcot Powerhouse Fund to tackle inequality and deprivation within the area.
The park runs free in-centre events and trails for Easter, Summer, Halloween, and Christmas, engaging shoppers with seasonal events.
